Crikey !

It will get hotter than this today.

The real climate change thing is not only the appalling heat (outside), but the fact that it’s predicted to be a maximum of 22 tomorrow.

Go figure.

There is not a single sound outside my unit. Not a vehicle on any road. No matter how distant they normally sound,  there is total, utter silence. No birds. No people, of course. Nothing.

We have become a nation that knows its limitations. When the temperature goes above 110 degrees Fahrenheit we remember that we are only human, and we give up.

If all the “leaders” in the world had acted on the scientists’ warnings back in the day, this would not now be happening.

Yep, we made it to 45°C – that’s 113° in US terms. Hope everyone’s impressed. Not.

  1. Only 39°C here today, but hot enough. And very quiet too … I can say nothing except agree with you. I reckon our leaders are going to realise too late how costly (by every measure) their tardiness and game-playing is. And who suffers most – not them.

  2. And here, in Northern Ontario, we are in day three of what the weather drama queens call a polar vortex – minus 30 Celsius overnight – “highs” in the minus 18 degree range. Factor in the windchill… we are, you should pardon the pun, polar opposites.

43,8 is crikey-worthy alright. Take care.

    1. But ONLY in terms of the weather, dear Maggie ! :) Got about 3 hours’ sleep: change that came in just before midnight was awful: wind, wind, dark skies (I mean apart from the lack of sun), occasional spatterings of nasty drops. I had struggled out at about 10 to water my little garden; and I’m sure it (sort of) saved it.
