Do you remember this ?
It was my last failure. I wanted to try making a cardigan from cuff to cuff; but I didn’t keep the edges straight, so I frogged it entirely.
This is how it’s (almost) currently looking, but that it now has a biiiiig cowl neck added, and I’ve run out of yarn for finishing the other sleeve. Must await ordered ball. This is a pattern I bought – the last:

This is the stitch, which I positively enjoyed doing: it’s called Closed V-stitch, in case anyone asks:

And here’s something I would be really happy with were it not for the horrible yarn. I ordered 8-ply from Oz Yarns, and what they sent me – indeed being the yarn on their lists that I ordered – was 10-ply and almost 12-ply. Bloody bulky.

So bulky is it that I couldn’t use my favourite stitch pattern for the sleeves as well as for the body and had to change down to dc for the neckline in order to set up matching fabric. Why I’m happy with it is that I now have a template – as it were – to make another in real DK yarn.

Please note the side stripes, done so that I could crochet the sleeves in the round and not have to join the underneaths. I was tickled pink with how this worked; and it’ll look brilliant in a single colour !
Here’s a quick jumper done in that lovely stitch, using horrible Mandala (never never again !):

My cousin’s lady saw me wearing it and claimed she would like a colourful one with green as the main shade – hence the above sweater.

This one was made to get rid of the very nice to work with but over-loud yarn. I wear it with a pink under-thing; although it could be worn with any of those colours.
I haven’t added my off-white cardi. I should, as it’s part of this tranche of crochet. I’ll take a shot of it when Boodie gets up off my lap.

You see clearly that my lack of creativity as a designer makes me rely on the yarns and the stitches for variation …
I’m awed by anyone who can knit or crochet, much less actually make wearable items. I do love the turquoise/teal colors and that last cardi is the sort of item I would always have close at hand.
(Your sixth photo, the cardi using the Mandala, is not showing for me.)

I think you’re referring to the ‘top’ one, Colorado ? – the re-make ? Yeah, it’s a nice, simple and inoffensive design. I’ll post a photo once it’s finished, and you’ll like the big cowl neckline (I hope !).
A person must be able to DO … something ! You can manage all that techo stuff, which would be in a hopeless mess were it to’ve been set up chez moi.

I don’t know about your knitting/crocheting skills, but my techno skills are being forgotten faster than I can learn the current ones — which change almost daily with updates, new releases, new gadgets, etc. — not to mention the new stuff being introduced every day. It’s like being on a treadmill that’s going faster and faster …

But you do your best to keep up ! – whereas I just shrug, sadly, and pay someone to fix my techo problems.

But paying someone to fix your techno is what gives you time for all that knitting and crocheting. We have different priorities and interests, that’s all.

True, Colorado. Other than which, we are very similar ! 🙂

Sorry, lamb – didn’t find this to approve it. One day we’ll sort all this anonymous stuff out.
I’m glad you like the white one, and I know you’re not into coloured yarn. You’ll hate what I’m working on right now, but my next one you’ll love. If you’re very good I’ll send it up to you when it’s done.

You are obviously a very nice person ! 🙂
I’m learning from every mistake – e.g., the way I made both fronts of the cream cardi “add up to” to the same width as the back. Too much work to rectify; but a salutary lesson !

I honestly think they look great! We always pick out the things we don’t like about our work, but to everyone else, it’s perfect 🙂

I took my current project to a crochet morning organized by our local council, this-morning – and spent the entire time trying to untangle the next ball of Lion Brand ‘Feels like Alpaca’. This yarn doesn’t want to be pulled from the centre, and did its best to let me know so !!
There were lots of beginners there and many intermediately-abled like me. Also one woman whose filigree work was simply marvellous; and a lone bloke, doing something so complicated I couldn’t work out what it is ! Great fun, all that. 🙂

That sounds like a really fun get together!

Oh I love that you went to a crochet morning MR. Is it a regular thing?
Your work is gorgeous but I most love the two carries, because they are the shorts of things I’m more likely to wear. Well done..

It’s another monthly get-together, Sue. This one was more … ahhh … varied in attendee ability than the Crochet Guild one at Moonee Ponds: there they’re their own harshest critics, but actually pretty damned able !
(See what I did ?) [grin]
