But I do !
So here I am posting images – both absolutely vile !, I haven’t improved my photographic skills as you can deduce – of my latest finished article. Or, in craft terms, my latest FO.

Firstly, dis is me looking both amazed and cross-eyed. Fetchin, ain’t it ? [grin]

Now this one sees me looking superior, not to say haughty, while trying to both hold one hand out to show the sleeve AND operate the camera. This result was the first time I have ever managed to actually do this double act: usually I have to put my arm down so that I can press the stupid circle with the other hand. However, although I did manage it, I didn’t manage also to focus (or stop the phone from moving). Sighh ..
And in fact neither of the shots shows the stitch I used – one that’s basic, but I’ve never seen a single garment made using it – called extended half double crochet, or ehdc for short. Hang on but – I sent an image to a lovely woman who has a yarn studio down in Portarlington (Yarn Me Calm):

There ! I sent this to Andrea so she could be impressed by the way I’d managed to marry up all the lines in the stitch when putting the pieces together.
See ? – when you get emailed by me, you never know what you’re going to be bombarded with ! 😀
I love it – but would prefer the sleeves were slimmer – there I’ve said it. don’t be cross M-R. Chris’ Memorial is tomorrow 😦 x

Love it but would prefer sleeves slimmer – just a suggestion 🙂

Never, darlin – you must always say what you really feel. I would too, btw: this was no-one’s pattern, and a kind of trial. Next time, fitting sleeves.
I hope you will get some closure from the memorial. Everyone will be unhappy; but only you know how terrible it all was.

Love it M-R Though given we’re still being honest, I rather like the sleeves, and I certainly like the jacket style, it’s the white I don’t much like. Still it will go with everything, and your stitching is beautiful. You done good!

Would you believe, Sue, it’s cream ?

One of the internet’s worst features, colour reproduction. But only because of the various and many types of monitor or phone screen ..
I finished a sort of coral-coloured one that I’m not keen on because the collar is far too wide; and I’m doing the sleeves of a sort of gold-coloured one that MIGHT work .. But to be honest, the only ones I’ve been totally happy with were the very first – https://i.imgur.com/kmICqcS.jpg

Those coloured ones are gorgeous… More me and certainly more colourful you. Cream is better than white but still I think that with our white hair we do colour well!!!

I have NO IDEA why I bought the cream yarn, Sue. I think it just looked lovely among all the other colours. And there’s a really pale blue I’m working on ..

Well I love everything about it, especially how you got the stitches to line up – that’s a feat in itself! I said just the other day that I’ve never seen a crocheted item of clothing that actually looks good, but you’ve proved me wrong.

Ah now, Hannah – what a marvellous comment ! Thank-you, m’dear ! That’s Jerica’s ‘Inside out’ cardi, made using my favourite yarn, Lion Brand Mandala Ombré.
But wait ! – you’re referring to the cream number ? – even more appreciated, as it’s not a pattern at all, but merely remembered numbers of stitches from various things made before. 😀

I think it looks real noice… unyusyual….
Lining up the rows is no mean feat. I’m impressed.
Maybe you need to invest in a cheap phone tripod to ease your photographing woes. Kmart have them pretty cheap. And then use the timer on selfie mode.

Well I don’t know squat about knitting or crocheting, but I love that sweater. I love the full sleeves — easy to put on over anything, and the light neutral color that will go with anything. And it’s much more attractive than the purple hoodie I keep close by.
A selfie stick might help with those pictures, or a PopSocket. I haven’t tried either. Once had a little tripod with flexible legs that could wrap around the nearest lamp pole or stand on a table. It was pretty handy.

So how did you .. erhmm .. actually take the picture, Colorado ? Like, press on the stupid fucking circle on the screen ?
Thanks for the nice remark re the cardi: I’m obsessive about making jumpers and cardis. Got too many already ..

You mean with the phone on the tripod? I set the shutter on a delay/timer. Also, with some phones, you can use a voice command. Selfie sticks have some sort of shutter control in the handle (never had one so don’t know for sure how they work). The PopSocket just gives you a better grip on the phone while you punch the circle. I’ve never used one because I don’t want something stuck on my nice phone case.

What a cute, cute, cute cardigan!! I so wish my ill-behaved wrists would let me crochet. May I suggest that you get Boodz to help you next time? I have had some success propping the phone against Hannah and telling Google to take a picture for me. Okay, there will be several bad shots, but you still have a better chance.

Oh Marilyn, you made me laugh !! Hannah (whom I have known from her arrival in your life) is a far better-behaved friend than is Boodie. Like, FAR.
But you have reminded me that I am in a position to tell the stupid phone to do its photographic thing – thanks heaps for making my brain click.

I think your modeling skills are just great, M-R. It seems like a nice cross between a cardigan and knit jacket. It has room to be worn over other items but it isn’t too big! I really like it. You do inspire me. I have so many unfinished projects. 😱

DEBRA !! – never say “unfinished projects”: say “works in progress” .. say WIPs !
It looks so much more .. erhmmm .. so much less scattered. 🙂
Thank-you, beautiful one; you are as charming as always !
