I was taken, this-morning, by online newspaper articles – that is, by their headlines. Mostly headlines simply pass me by as I peruse them with a distinct lack of enthusiasm; but today some seem to be pertickly .. ahh .. interesting (?).
Consider the following:

I am a coffeeholic, no doubt about it. This header causes me a little angst because it might – just might – mean that my hopeless habit is gumming up my works !! If coffee grounds make stronger concrete, isn’t constipation to be expected ?!

Then there’s this one:

Sighh .. What else is to be said ? – smaller pension pool available to more pensioners can only mean one thing ..

There are more ..

It’s gratifying – although far, far too late – that the USA recognises the arsehole’s intention of destroying its entire system. I said at almost the outset that tRump wanted to destroy the Presidency and what it stood for.

And, moving on with relief ..

Four ? – is that the best they could do ?? Hmph ! – pathetic ! Still, that an article is actually published about my favourite occupation is damned fine ! 🙂

I have saved the best till last ! [grin]
This headline combines possibly everything horrible into the one story, as you will immediately have to agree ..

That there could actually BE a tour group of a sewer, that it be a Moscow sewer, that the sewer is flooded ..

STOP PRESS ! (additional)

My friend Sue asked me why I didn’t include this one – and I was infuriated that the bloody ABC didn’t have it in the list at the time of my early morning posting. It’s absolutely a header I would’ve started with !!

You found some winners, M-R. I think you saved the best for last, however. Not only that there was a tour of the Russian sewer, odd as that is, but that eight people died on that tour, makes it a head-shaker!
The latest Trump indictment is just mind-boggling in scope, yet he still remains extremely popular and a cult-like following that is maybe more disturbing to me than he is! To say that I’m alarmed is an understatement.
I enjoyed your headlines, my friend. I think for peace of mind purposes I’m just not going to believe the coffee story! I don’t want to even think about this one. LOL!

I had to add another one (tsk !), Deb, that hadn’t been in the list of ABC headlines when I originally posted. Farnham is a much-loved Aussie singer; and the fact the cancer that attacked him was in his jaw was simply appalling.
https://youtu.be/tbkOZTSvrHs?list=OLAK5uy_mb1COI89v9brWEkJJECF97-G3jTmTGc0Q might be his best-known song in the USA, but there are many, many equally terrific songs around.

Great post MR. Coincidentally, I was just thinking this morning about Trump and how long we’ve had to put up with him being in our news. His appetite for fame knows no bounds. Unbelievable ,and unbelievable how so many people, not just Americans, can think he’s okay, can believe that the system is so corrupt that it is fabricating these charges against Trump, can believe that he didn’t behave illegally. It’s just hard to fathom.
As for the coffee, what Debra said I reckon, but you did make me laugh.
What about the great headline this morning that John Farnham has been cleared of cancer? Always good news when someone gets that news.

I can only say “see Stop Press !”, Sue. Thank-you !!!

Trump is and has for years been a con man of the worst kind. It started long before he was elected. I don’t know why more people didn’t read enough to know that. (Or worse, they knew it and that’s precisely why they voted for him.) Your evil clown face is perfect! I may steal it.
Didn’t know Farnham or his song before now, but it got me a bit choked up. The song is 12 years old and, sadly, we need it now more than ever.

I wanted an evil clown, and apparently this one is the best most, Colorado. Pennywise, I believe his name is ..
Oh, then I’m tickled pink to’ve been the one to introduce you to The Voice ! It was a track on John’s marvellous album called ‘Whispering Jack’ – one of the best album names I’ve ever known. And the album was a shot in the arm for his career, which didn’t look back after it. Well, not till the big c, anyway.

It was a wonderful song, and so much more apropos today than when it was first released.
Yep, Pennywise is the name. Sad that the movie, which I’ve no interest in seeing, made clowns evil and frightening to today’s younger generations. They were just silly and fun when I was a kid.

See if we’re as similar in our tastes as I think we might be:

This was his last huge concert – the final performance, in Melbourne, at the end of a many months tour. Chic was still alive, back then; and we (in Sydney) watched the TV coverage of this concert with absolute joy: a big ensemble, some super and different instruments, and an ENORMOUS crowd, all having the time of our lives.

I am laughing at the coffee grounds headline and thankful for mostly drinking tea these days.
As for Trump *sigh*, the GOP *sigh*, and their followers *sigh*, I am tiring of the lies, hatred, bigotry, awful misuse of Christianity, the idiocy of it all. Trump is ruining this country, not making it great. He has corralled citizens who are easily brainwashed and influenced (and don’t educate themselves) and they have no clue how much kool-aid they have consumed. He has fired up the racists and bigots who want to go back to keeping people of color down and the LGBTQ+ community in the closet. The only way this changes is if Trump is convicted on the four indictments, all charges, Fox News goes away, and the remaining sensible people of this country start voting for the ethics and morality of a democracy and not a skewed vision of a narcissist.
Okay, end of rant and self-righteousness.
And how is your day? Check out my latest post for visions of Gibbs and Hoshi because I know you will want to. 😉

We Aussies are SO proud of our ex-member Murdoch and his lovely son Lachlan. NOT !!!
I have just been on your blogsite, my very dear old mate, and as a result have commented of the (sole) photo of Gibbs. Which comment causes me to reflect guiltily upon not having uttered a syllabub about Hoshi. :-} I am rude and deserve to be smacked. Please tell Hoshi that I apologise ?
There are many gorgeous photos in your latest post, and I am delighted to note them and also that you haven’t lost your photographic ability, MJ ..

Thank you, M-R! I love taking photos and glad that you and others enjoy them. Hoshi has pretty thick skin for a girl. I apologized to her, for you, and she said, “Not now, I’m pooping.” The nerve of her…lol.
